Information tends to be given in a direct way…

I'll let you judge by yourself what I am talking about with those informative – persuasive campaign posters seen in the street.

about about keeping the streets clean

About road security..
and another one on the back of a bus...

And the latest one is the front page of today's "Metro", a free daily newspaper About bird flu in Britain (Scotland to be precised…).

A bit too much for me…

English taxis and double bus are parts of charmings England :)

Magic buses

If ever you come to Manchester, leave your car at home if possible.

There are lots of buses.
And there are lots of bus companies.
I could mention 7 of them for Manchester city center (without talking about the tram which is another company)
And every Bus Company has is own tickets and travel fares.
Of course there is a universal ticket for all the bus company but it costs fortune (about 47£ for 4 weeks)
But bus companies are clever.
In order to let the illusion that their fares are not that expensive, mostly day tickets or week tickets are available and are the most popular.

But however I can mention a free bus service which operates during the day to carry people in the city center. I have tried once, and it is not so bad exceot that the driver is a bit careless about the quality service.

Every morning I have to take 2 busses to get to my work place. I live close to the BBC Manchester studio at the border of the city center and there are about of 30 bus lines despatch on 3 bus stops on 20 meters. The game morning is to guess at which stop I will get the first bus from on of the 2 companies for which my travel ticket is available. Or I can choose to wait about the middle of the 3 bus stop, try to read the bus number and run to the appropriate stop…

Most of the most are double floor buses like in London. Being upstairs in front of the bus enable to have real sensation as bus drivers like living dangerously…

Black cab

If you are many, you might prefer to take a taxi (cab). You can fit up to 5 in a taxi. Those cars are specially designed to carry people and luggage will find a place close to your feet. Due to the price of the public transportation, everybody takes taxi to move around. There are a lot of them every where. And there are also really used late in the evening.
